ELIGIBILITY
All entries must be the work of AIA-Central Virginia Members or
Members Firms, and the Architect of Record must be a member as
well. Projects may be built or unbuilt with the construction
or drawings having been completed since January 2002. Any entry
which is not the sole responsibility of the submitted architect
must be properly credited. Projects which have previously won
awards other than from AIA-Central Virginia are eligible.
LOCATION:
Projects may be located anywhere.
AWARDS:
The program is not a competition but a recognition of projects
that a jury, appointed by the Chapter, deems to have achieved
excellence in architecture; therefore, there are no submittal
classifications, number of awards to be given, or detailed criteria
beyond those stated above. Apart from some very generalized notions
of the Chapter’s intent, the jurors are free to move in
any direction and confer as many awards as they see fit. The
firm or organization of record and owner of each winning entry
will receive a certificate of the award. Images of the entries
will be shown at the Announcement Gathering in July. Presentation
of the Awards will take place at the Gala Dinner meeting, scheduled
in October, 2006.
